Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has introduced an 8-bit event for Season 4: Reloaded. Jump into retro versions of classic Modern Warfare 2 maps, earn XP, and unlock some exclusive rewards during this season’s Retro Warfare event. For the next two weeks, earning XP in MW3 will unlock exclusive 8-bit cosmetics and XP boosters.
In this short guide, we’ll be explaining how the Retro Warfare event works, how to unlock event rewards, and showcase all 18 event rewards you can earn over the course of this two-week-long event. You don’t have to play the new Bit Party playlist either. Just jump into your favorite MW3 activity and start earning XP.

What Is Retro Warfare?
Retro Warfare is an in-game event that runs from June 26 to July 10.This event has unique 8-bit cosmetics for use in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. There are 18 rewards you can earn throughout this event, including an exclusive weapon blueprint forthe Bruen MK9. There is also a non-animated weapon camo you can earn for all MW3 weapons.
Every reward in this event is tied to XP, so you can participate by playing any MW3 playlist. You’ll need a total of 705,000XP to unlock every reward. That’s rather high for an event, but Retro Warfare lasts for two weeks. Double XP tokens also count towards your event earnings, should you wish to speed up the grind.
Event Rewards
This event has18 rewardsyou can earn, all of which are unlocked by earning XP. All the cosmetics in this event are 8-bit themed, including theBit Blaster weapon blueprint for the Bruen MK9, which is the final reward for Retro Warfare. There is also theGame Overweapon camo you may unlock upon reaching 400,000 XP. The usual event rewards—XP boosters, weapon stickers, charms, and emblems—are also available to earn here.
