You’ve got a ton of resources you’ll need to gather as you play throughStardew Valley, but it’s a bit confusing to note that only five of the items that drop when you slay monsters in the mines, Skull Cavern, Volcano Dungeon, or even on your farm count toward the “Monster Loot” category of items.

Even outside those central five items, the monsters you slay in Stardew Valley drop dozens of different types of loot, some of it vastly more valuable than others. In our guide, we’ve pinned down exactly where you can find all Monster Loot in Stardew Valley.

Monsters Drop Loot And Resources When Slain

As you progress through building upthe Combat skillin Stardew Valley and begin encountering new monsters, you’ll soon find yourself with a true wealth of monster loot. These areitems dropped by specific monsterswhen you take them out in any of the game’s dungeons (or on your own farm, if you so choose).

These monsters will primarily be encountered withinthe minesin the mountain area of Pelican Town in Stardew Valley proper,Skull Cavernonce you’ve unlocked it over in the Calico Desert, within theVolcano Dungeonafter you’vereached Ginger Island, or even on your very own farm, if you’ve chosen the right farm map.

You’ll likely have enough monster loot on hand after a regular run through one of the dungeons listed above, as long as you’ve broughtyour best weaponsand prepareda few mealsto keep you in good shape. Be sure tohold onto at least some of the monster lootyou collect, as it’s often used in pretty niche recipes and can be frustrating to try to find again later on.

You can alwaystrawl back through the dungeonslooking for it, but having some on-hand can save you an entire day’s worth of venturing and fighting. We always keep some in a chest on our farm - you never know when you might need it, or for what.

All monsters drop different kinds of loot, and while there are onlyfive recognized “Monster Loot” itemsin Stardew Valley, you’ll find yourself witha backpack fullof monster drops after a day in a dungeon, both regular Monster Loot and plenty of other assorted resources and goods.
