We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about how to solve Chameleon’s riddles and find him.
How To Start The Find Chameleon Quest
Chameleon can first be found in a backyard with acute little rock gardenwith a napping spot and a bonsai tree.
To get there, take the road between where you learnhow to pounce on birds and the construction site. When you get to the old lady’s produce stand, turn right and follow the road to the corner. Walk onto the sidewalk and go through theopen gate into the front patio.

Straight ahead there’s a hole in the bottom of the wall that you cancrawl throughinto the backyard.
Before you head into the backyard, turn right andjump in the trash canto find a couple of Shinies and a unicorn plushie.
Once in the backyard, the garden is on your left. On your right, jump up the stacked crates andyou’ll find Chameleon on the wallabove the shelf.
After you speak to him and he marvels at your “weird eyes” being able to see him when he’s supposed to be invisible, he decides tochallenge you to find him again.
Chameleon will give you a clue as to where he’ll be “camouflaged” next, and you’re tosolve the clue and find him. This triggers the beginning of theFind Chameleon quest.
There is a place where hard hats shine,
Where concrete pours and diggers whine.
I’ll be camouflaged nearby.
Invisible to your weird eye.
Going by the clue, the next location isnear the construction site.To gain initial access to the construction site, you’ll need tohave completed the “Fetch 3 feathers for Tanuki” questandobtained the Hard Hat.
Head back the way you came, put on your Hard Hat, andenter the construction site through a hole in the side fence. Go through the construction siteout the front entrance, then take a u-turn and head towards the dog, the same way you went to get the Hard Hat.
Look inside theporta-a-pottyat the end of the construction fence on your left. Chameleon, now a lovely shade of blue, is on the wall. Speak with him to start the next stage of the quest:Find Chameleon…again!
If you’ve gotten a little further ahead andare able to climb, you can also go through a hole in the fence in the back corner of the construction site. From there, climb up the vines, then turn around, jump down, and you’ll find Chameleon inside the porta-a-potty.
A metal friend with arms spread wide
Provides a place to climb and slide.
But you won’t know I’m there at all,
Because I’ll be invisible!
For this next step, you’ll need to have received your firstfish from the Crowby trading him 25 Shinies. Once you eat the fish, you’llgain the ability to climb short vines.
This second clue will take you to the playground where there is aslide in the shape of a robot. If you’ve not been there before, the playground is down the road from the shrinewhere you first talk to Duck.
To get there, climb the short vines behind the bikewhere the Crow used to perch and jump down into the alley.
At the intersection ahead, the shrine where you talk to Duck is on the right. If you continue down the road past the shrine, the playgroundwill be on your right.
If this is your first time back here, the game willforce you to speak with Duckat the shrine before you continue. Once you’ve finished theconversation with Duck and started the Reunite The Family quest, you’ll be able to continue to the playground.
At the back of the playground is the large, robot-shaped slide. Walk up the steps, and you’ll find Chameleon, whose color has changed to red, behind the robot face. Speak with him to start stage three:Find Chameleon, Part III!
A sealed glass case containing snacks
What’s better than just one machine?
A group of six to choose between!
Part three of this quest is likely to be theeasiest of them all to find Chameleon. You need to find vending machines: specifically, agroup of six vending machines.
Luckily, just across the street from the playground, there is a group of six vending machines! In fact, you can see them from the robot slide.
Cross the street, and to the left of the vending machines aresome stacked cratesyou can use to jump onto the tops of the machines. There’s even an arrow on the streetlight indicating you should go up.
you’re able to probably see Chameleon from the road, sporting arather fetching cyan color! Climb up there to speak with him, and he’ll give you yet another riddle to begin stage four of the quest:Find Chameleon: Episode 4!
Lizards used to rule the Earth,
(And will again - just mark my words!)
But, until then, there’s World of Gecku,
A store where I will now expect you!
The World of Gecku that Chameleon refers to is atoy store in the city.To get there from where you are, jump down from the vending machines and turn right, then follow the road as it curves to the left.
World of Gecku is on the corner of the road, right behind thepedestrian signal. You’ll know you’re in the right place by the super-sized yellow Gecku on the top of the building.
Once inside, you’ll find Chameleon up on theback wall above a ledge, wearing a bright shade of orange, near some Gecku statues. Jump up onto the shelf on your right, and continue climbing up the shelves till you reach him.
Speak with Chameleon for yet another clue to start stage five of the quest:Find Chameleon: 5IVE!
I’ll be near a rooftop garden
Past the water-wielding warden!
To find Chameleon this time, you’ll need to find a rooftop garden. Head back to the old lady’s produce shop, and on top of the building across the streetthere is a rooftop garden.
To get there, turn right, then follow the corner, go past the dog, thenturn right at the cones onto the sidewalk.
If you continue going straight, you’ll come to the fishing pier and the fisherman.
For now, climb up the crates and vending machines on your right toget to the top of the building, then cross to the other building and climb the vines to the rooftop garden.
You will need to have eaten at leasttwo fish by nowin order to climb up to the garden.
The lady watering the flowers (aka the water-wielding warden) will spray you if you get too close to her plants.
Walk around the rooftop, out of the lady’s way, and climb the vines on the fence in the back. Chameleon, now a regal purple color, will be waiting on the wall back here.
Speak with him to start stage six of the quest:Chameleon 6: Find & Furious.
This rooftop was a bad idea
Just look out for the big red bullseye
And … something something something … BYEEE!
This clue can be a bit trickier to solve, but we’ve got you covered. You’re looking for an alleyway with abig red bullseye, and there just happens to be one right next to the World of Gecku shop.
Jump down to the road from the rooftop garden, and go down the road past the playground. You’re heading towards World of Gecku, but just before you get to the shop, look to your right. It’s not a true alleyway, buta loading dock with a bar gate.
Halfway up the wall, Chameleon is waiting, and the red bullseye he mentioned is all the way at the top. To get to him, jump up onto the bed of the red truck to your right, then use the boxes to climb up on to the wall ledge. Take the ledge to the air duct, then follow it all the way to the left.
Once it dead-ends, jump across to the little brown roof, then climb up the various pipes and air conditioner units till you get to theair duct above you. This will bring you right to Chameleon, whose color has changed again to cyan blue. This time, the poor guy is so afraid of heights that he’s doing breathing exercises when you find him.
After a brief talk,he gives you a new clue, which sparks stage seven of the quest:Find Chameleon: Chapter 7!
You’ll come down to the riverfront,
To find me is your dearest wish…
Just don’t get sidetracked by the fish!
Head back over to where you climbed up to the rooftop garden, but instead, head down the stairs onto the fishing pier. The ground here is covered in cones and water puddles,so navigate carefully.
If you haven’t already gotten the fish from the fisherman, now is a good time to do it.Either way, you’ll find Chameleon on the sign to the right at the top of the stairs. He’s blue again, but a slightly darker shade of blue.
As before, speak with him to trigger theeighth and final stageto the quest:Find Chameleon 8: The Return of Chameleon
Beside the small convenience store
Protected by a well locked door
You’ll find a room where humans rest
And that’s where I’ll conclude this test!
The convenience store is across the street from the World of Gecku. There are a couple of waysto get inside the restroom, but the easiest doesn’t even involve you going inside the convenience store.
Head back towards the World of Gecku, but go past both it and the convenience store, turningleft down the roadtill you come to the small construction area and a dog.
Above the air conditioner unit on your left is an open window that leads into the restroom.Climb up the crates by the dogto get up there, and you’ll find Chameleon, now green, on the mirror.
If you haven’t found a way past the dog yet, inside the little construction area you’ll find a bone (as well as a hat).Place the bone inside the dog’s dishand this will distract him from you.
It’s at this moment that Chameleonfinally figures out how to blendin with his surroundings. As a thank you for completing his challenge, he rewards you with his"lightly used (but still very stylish) magician’s hat!".
