Summary

Alan Wake 2 developer Remedy Entertainment has announced that the first of the game’s two planned DLC will be launching tomorrow, the first being a trip to Night Springs.

Alan Wake 2 was one of last year’s greatest and unique titles, which is an impressive feat considering it was one of the best years for games in a long while. It cleaned up at The Game Awards alongside Baldur’s Gate 3, and the game’s mysterious plot had pretty much everyone who played itching for more. Remedy revealed shortly after release that Alan Wake 2 would be getting DLC, and now the developer has finally lifted the lid on these mysterious expansions during Summer Game Fest.

It was revealed that the first DLC would be centered around the in-game TV show Night Springs, but we weren’t quite sure how. With this reveal, we now know that the DLC will focus around three different characters from across the Remedyverse. Rose and Sheriff Breaker will be playable for the first time, while Jesse Faden from the Control serieswill also have her own episode.

Alan Wake 2 Night Springs DLC Revealed, Launches Tomorrow

While we now have the Night Springs DLC to look forward to, there is still the matter of the second Alan Wake 2 DLC that Remedy has promised. If you thought the Night Springs DLC was tricky to gauge before its reveal, the second DLC is simply titled “The Lake House.” We know this is a house used by the FBC to monitor Cauldron Lake and the Dark Presence within it, but that’s where the confirmed information ends.

There are theories that The Lake House DLC could bring in Jesse Faden from Control, especially with her appearance in this DLC, similar to how Control’s second DLC expansion called AWE touched upon Alan Wake. It’s pretty likely, given Jesse is running things at the FBC now, and the expansion will probably heavily revolve around the institution, but we’ll have to wait for Remedy to spill the beans before we know for sure.

We don’t have a release date for The Lake House just yet, though Remedy has confirmed it will launch at some point this year.

That’s enough speculation now though, as while Night Springs DLC is pretty exciting, Sam Lake had another big announcement to make, revealing that Alan Wake 2 will be getting a physical collector’s edition. It was a title thatgot a lot of stick from fans for not having a physical edition, but it seems Sam Lake is remedying (pun intended) the problem with a deluxe edition, and a fancy collector’s edition from Limited Run.
