Summary
We’re officially three weeks out from Summer Game Fest, and things just got a lot more exciting. The Geoff Keighley-led event is set to take place on June 7 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, with tons of announcements and updates slated to appear.
But that’s not all. It looks likeRemedy’s Sam Lake will also be involved in some way, shape or form.

Taking to Twitter, Lake retweeted Keighley’s announcement with a pair of eyeball emojis. Check it out:
In any other world, those eyeballs would mean nothing. But in the world of teasers, hype and hidden meanings, those eyeballs mean something a little bit deeper. What that could be though remains to be seen. But we have a few guesses.

Is Alan Wake 2 DLC On The Way, Or Something Bigger?
Lake’s potential presence at Summer Game Fest could mean any number of things. Because even though Remedy Entertainmentcanceled its multiplayer title codenamed Kestrel, it still has a number of projects in the works. Any of which could show up.
For starters, 2023’sAlan Wake 2hastwo pieces of story DLC that will be released at some point. The Night Springs Expansion and Lake House Expansion don’t have confirmed dates or details at the moment, so a reveal of the DLC could be on the horizon.
Sticking with Alan Wake 2, could there be the potential for a physical release? As many will recall,Alan Wake 2 was released as a digital-only title. Remedy cited the presence of digital-only consoles like the Xbox Series S as well as efforts to keep the cost low, $59.99 instead of $69.99.
However, sales for Alan Wake 2 were softer than expected, and it was revealed that the game had not made back its budget. A physical release, particularly an “Ultimate Edition,” could certainly help boost those numbers.
Beyond the realm of Alan Wake, Remedy is also working on full-fledged remakes ofMax Payne 1+2. Those remakesrecently entered full production, so a potential teaser could be in the works.
Elsewhere, Remedy also has two separateControlprojects, including a live service game and a sequel. Either of those could debut, though the live service game is the one that’s furthest along.
And then there’s the pipedream stuff. What if Remedy is working to portQuantum Breakto PlayStation consoles? After all,Alan Wake eventually made its way to PlayStation via a remastered release. Or what if Remedy is working on something else entirely? Anyone up for a Punisher game from Remedy?
Either way, fans should be extremely excited about the future of the studio. And if Summer Game Fest wasn’t already a must-watch event, then Lake definitely made it one.
