Minecraft is truly one of the few games out there that gives you complete creative control, allowing players todo what they want, build what they want, andhave their own fun along the way. There are plenty out there that have decided to test the limits of Minecraft just to see what is possible, and a 20-person team have spent the past five years building one of the most impressive maps you will ever see in the entire history of the game.

Drehmal Apotheosis is a complete open world experiencebuilt entirely in Minecraft, and was shared with fans on the r/gaming subreddit earlier this week by one of the creators. Keeko100 shared a bird’s-eye view of the map, which features a variety of different biomes, locations, and interesting islands for players to go and explore, with sprawling dungeons and unique encounters across the map, all of which have been completely handcrafted.

Minecraft Fans Have Spent 5 Years Making An Open World Experience In-Game

If you’re thinking this looks rather familiar, it’s because this project has been ongoing for quite some time. The title originally started out as Drehmal Primordial, but the team behind the title have spent the last three years tweaking, improving, and updating the title to turn it into a full-scale RPG that would rival some blockbuster releases. Keeko explains that it usually takes around 40 hours to complete the game’s map, but you could very well sink over 150 hours into it if you’re a bit of a completionist.

To make things even better, Drehmal Apotheosis is essentially built on top of Minecraft, so you have all the moreish qualities of the base game thrown in for good measure. Add to that a whopping 57 original compositions made by musician Chris Nesja, a complete main story, and a world inspired byThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,Dark Souls, and The Outer Wilds, and you’ve got a pretty good time on your hands.
