Stepping intoDestiny 2: The Final Shape is unlike any previous Destiny experience thus far, featuring an epic and challenging campaign matched only by the Salvation’s Edge raid. With so many new powers, weapons, and enemies to encounter, there are a few things that you’ll want to know before starting.
From strategies to combat some of The Witness' strongest forces to small adjustments that will keep you fully immersed in the DLC, your experience with The Final Shape is influenced by how you prepare. If you want to experience The Final Shape in all its glory, here’s how.

8Prepare For Shields
Ever since the introduction of Anti-Barrier mods, Guardians have had a way to deal with the annoying barrier shields that Goblins like to use on their allies. However, some shields can’t be pierced by Anti-Barrier,requiring you to perform certain mechanics to deactivate them.
You’ll encounter shields galore in the campaign, sohold onto your superuntil you’re sure the enemy won’t nullify it with a well-timed shield.

You’ll find plenty of shields in The Final Shape, from the standard Taken Goblins, to Bound enemies that you must Transcend anduse your Prismatic abilitiesto deal with.
7Most Arenas Have A Safe Spot
Bungie designs their boss arenas to keep you moving and put pressure on you with enemy spawns, but there’s always at least one or two spots where you may safely hang out. During your early fight with Vrihn, you canhead over to the right side of the arena(when looking out into the distance) and up the stairs for some reprieve.
While you won’t be completely safe from pursuing enemies (like Vrihn), most safe spots can buy you at least enough time to reload and re-assess your situation.

In this case, kite Vrihn around andrun to the opposite sideof the arenaif he follows you up the stairs.
6Don’t Get Too Close To The Resonating Grim
While the new Resonating Grim enemies may seem fascinating to look at and observe as they dart around in the air, you shouldn’t let your curiosity get the best of you. If you approach them, theGrim will let out a blood-curdling screamonce you get within range.
When they scream, the Resonating Grim enemies inflict theTinnitus Debuff, which
You must stay as far away as possible, and soon you’ll forget this debuff even exists if you keep out of the Grim’s range.
5Hit The Crit Or Finish Husks
If you kept up with Bungie’s Vidocs before the release of The Final Shape, then you may have known thatHusks must be killed with precision damageto avoid spawning the Darkness within their chests. However, you can also finish these enemies instead, which is incredibly useful when they’re too close to shoot accurately.
There are plenty ofexcellent new weapons in The Final Shapeto use for defeating Husks.
Avoid using grenades or any other types of damage, as the Husks will spawn their Geists if killed by any other methods. Stick to finishing if you’re struggling to hit these marauding enemies andbuild around using finishers to keep yourself safe.
4Prepare To See Your Ghost Shell. A Lot.
Your ghost shell rarely affects your Destiny experience, as it usually only appears in select cutscenes or when it comes out to open a door. However, you’ll be talking to your ghost after every mission in The Final Shape,so you’ll want to choose a shell you like.
You should avoid goofy shells like Ghoyster if you want a serious story experience, as it’s hard not to chuckle when googly eyes are moving around during Ghost’s briefings.
Ultimately, your ghost reflects you but prepare for a few serious heart-wrenching speeches from your ghost toward the end.
3Turn Your HUD Off For Extra Immersion
Destiny 2’s expansions are often the most cinematic storytelling moments of the year. TheFinal Shapetakes that standard to the next level, delivering some of the most epic moments in Destiny’s long history.
Whether you’re highly skilled and want to ramp up the challenge of your Legendary campaign, or you want a cinematic view of the missions on normal difficulty, disabling your HUD will offer an immersive experience worth tryingif you’ve never done so before.
2Tangling Weavers Are A Major Wild Card
When Weavers first appeared in the lead-up to The Final Shape, it was clear that their Strand pull ability would be a challenge to counter. In practice, it’s difficult to avoid unless you see them charging the attack, butthese Weavers have an unusual function if you’re clever.
If you’re overwhelmed by enemies converging on your position, sometimes letting yourself be catapulted away by a Weaver can help you.
You won’t want to try this during the final mission, but it’s worth experimenting with on the battlefields during earlier campaign missions.
1Subjugators Are Weak To The Element They Wield
Subjugators are difficult enemies to fight due to their incredible mobility and high-damage attacks, but these monsters have an unusual weakness. Each Subjugator is weak to the elements they use, so one that usespowerful Stasis abilitieswilltake extra damage from Stasis sources.
You’ll encounter these pawns of The Witness throughout the campaign and encounter multiple Subjugators to defeat during the climactic battle. Keep cover between yourself and any Subjugator you see to avoid their powerful attacks, and counter with precision damage to take them down.
