One of my favorite moments from the Summer Game Fest showcase was when Jason Blum took the stage and announced Blumhouse Games, the massively successful film studio’s new indie game publishing arm. Granted, there wasn’tthatmuch to be excited about during the SGF show, but as a big fan of horror, I’m ecstatic thatBlumhouse is taking its M3GAN moneyand pumping it into the indie game scene. Depending on how you’re progressing throughAnimal Welldecides exactly when you’ll come across one of its creepier puzzles, but rest assured, the Ostrich is waiting for you in the depths no matter when you stumble on it. And when that thing sees your little blob, it starts pecking at you literally on sight. Thankfully, the room with the Ostrich puzzle in Animal Well has several openings in the floor where you may find the switches to open the door on the far side of the room!...

Summary It feels like half of my day is wasted by catching up on all my silly little games. Wordle, Connections, Streaks, Guess the Game, Pokedoku – if I lose my streak in any of them, I’d be devastated. But one that’s really got me lately isSpellify. Spellify is run byMagic: The GatheringsiteCommander’s Herald, and has you try and identify a card in 13 guesses, hangman-style. With almost 30,000 individual cards in the game, you’d expect to not get it most of the time....
